Street Photography International

About this project

Having worked with Craig on his own website, he and his colleagues at Street Photography International asked me to help them professionalise the two websites they had created themselves, one for the photography collective, and one for the photography competition held every year.

The collective had focused on growing their social media following, and with over 1 million followers, it was time to upgrade their online presence to match the level of their following. The main website for the collective needed to demonstrate the expertise of the photographers and give them a platform to sell workshops and art prints, while also showcasing past competition winners and exhibitions.

Using their incredibly strong imagery as the main focal point, I created profiles for each of the founders, and set up a number of spaces on the website that they could easily update with new images. To highlight the community aspect of their work, I introduced some conversational hand-written elements sprinkled throughout the site. As they had previously lacked an impactful way to showcase competition winners, I created a template for this, meaning they could easily duplicate it for future competition winners to be displayed in a cohesive manner.

The competition site had been built by a technical developer, but the process for managing competition entries was unsustainable as the competition grew. I suggested some alternative platforms to manage the entries, and helped to integrate the third party platform into the newly redesigned website.

NOTE: After project completion, all clients receive training to empower them to update their own websites, so bear in mind that anything you see on the live website may not reflect my design work.
